It all seems, too simple?

Actually it is, there's one price and one service. No added extras, prints or anything at all. All the photos taken are put on disk and into an attractive folio and they're all yours to do with as you wish. Print, copy, share!! Plus you'll also get a DVD showreel, set to your own music, an 80 page photobook, and your own web gallery.
 

How many photographs do you take?

As many as we can. It completely depends on the weather, number of guests, time allocated to photography, willingness of guests etc. So anywhere between 400 and 600.
 

Why are you less expensive?

Well, we don't do any expensive off-line advertising or attend any wedding fayres, preferring to rely on recommendation and web search. By keeping our costs low, we can charge less!! By charging less, we have more weddings, by having more weddings we can charge less ... etc ... etc
 

What format are the photographs in?

The photos are shot in RAW, then converted to Digital Negatives (DNG) for future-proofing. They are then processed and converted to high res jpeg files for you. But if you're a whizz in Photoshop then more than happy to give you the original RAW or DNG images, they're yours after all!!
 

Can I get more copies of the CDs?

Yes of course, these are just charged at cost, so another DVD will be £3 and with a folio case £15
 

How long do you keep the photos for?

Howling Basset will archive the wedding photographs on optical media (Archival quality DVD) in two separate locations. Due to the nature of optical media losing integrity over a prolonged period, Howling Basset cannot guarantee the usability of the files in the future. It is the couples responsibility to back-up their wedding photographs.
 

How long do you stay for?

our wedding photographer will be with you throughout the bridal preparation, wedding service, wedding reception and your first dance.
 

Do you carry back-up equipment?

Yes, we shoot on professional DSLR cameras and use the best quality lenses and carry multiples of anything that could go wrong. Digital allows for greater flexibility than film, and ultimately offers a wider scope for creativity.
 

Photographer's meal?

Because the photographer is effectively with you all day, right up until the first dance, you will need to provide a meal for them. This doesn't have to be with your guests, or to the same standard (or expense) of the "wedding breakfast" but a simple meal would be greatly appreciated.
 

Do you charge for mileage?

Within reason the mileage is included. We do the occasional wedding outside of Kent in Essex, Hampshire, Central London etc and we don't charge anything for the extra mileage.
 

What are the different photographic styles

There are three main styles of wedding photography.

Traditional (Classical) - This the most formal style where the guests are posed and arranged.

Reportage (Documentary) - More creative, natural shots without the photographer being too visible.

Contemporary - A combination of the two above.

Howling Basset fall into the latter, Contemporary, style. Combining the formal setting up of group shots with capturing any spontaneous moments.
 

Why haven't I seen Howling Basset at any wedding fayres

You won't find Howling Basset Wedding Photography at any wedding fayres ... we're just too busy.

They also cost a lot to be there and that expense would eventually have to be passed onto the couple. We prefer to use the two main sources: the web and recommendations.
