Chislehurst Wedding Photography with Howling Basset. Chislehurst is a beautiful town situated on the Kent and London border, surrounded by parkland it really has a village feel to the place. There are also some lovely wedding venues in the area too including – Ripley Arts Centre, Orpington Golf Course, Eltham Palace, Tudor Barn, The County Ground, Holiday Inn Bexley, Hall Place and Gardens, Ranger’s House, Devonport House, Oaks Farm, Addington Palace, Greenwich Yacht Club, Addington Court Golf Club, The Rosendale, Princes Park Stadium, De Vere Selson Estate, Donnington Manor Hotel
Wedding couples ask me what my style of Chislehurst Wedding Photography is, well the truth is I don’t really have one. I tend to mix it all up a bit with formal group shots, directed candids and then candids and in that order. Just going for the “reportage” style throughout the wedding will only get you a few great shots and the rest is of a poor quality IMO. I shoot the groups first, gets them out-of-the-way and means your guests can relax and go in if its cold, wet or even too sunny.
Then I shoot the wedding couple in what I call directed candids. I don’t tend to pose the couple, too stagey, takes too long and really looks unnatural and I think rather dated. I prefer to get the coupe, to actually do things like … walk hand in hand, chatting and being happy. Groom; whisper something rude in your new bride’s ear. Get the couple to stare at each other and wait for the ensuing laugh … that type of thing. Then if there’s time its into full candid mode for the couple and their family and guests.
My style …
All the photos from the wedding are edited, taking another full day, and I supply the wedding couple with all the photos from their big day; usually in excess of 1,200. Some wedding photographers supply just a few hundred but I’ve never seen the point if this. I really don’t need to keep back any photos of the couples’ Aunt Margaret!!! 🙂
