Kent Life Museum Weddings
The Kent life Museum in Maidstone was the wedding venue of choice for Cara and Daniel. Cara got ready and had her preparation photography at the Village Hotel which is lovely and just around the corner from Kent Life Museum, I was also very pleased to see it has a Starbucks located in it, coffee is GOOD. Cara’s bridesmaids and her side of the wedding party were brought over to the museum in a stunning cream or English white (I can never tell the difference) Bentley S1. As the hotel is literally around the corner from the wedding venue the Bentley was able to make a few trips to ferry people over; a lovely and very stylish way to travel.
The ceremony itself took place in the Ulcombe Village Hall. A wonderful pre-fabricated building that was rescued from Ulcombe, restored and rebuilt at the Kent Life Museum. There are many other buildings that the museum has saved from Kent’s past and is a great place to visit especially with young ones as there are plenty of animals to see and donkey rides. After the ceremony it was straight into the group shots and the guys had a pretty long list. Lovely backgrounds at Kent Life for the groups and a keen crowd meant that the groups didn’t take too long. Then it was a brief walkabout with Cara and Daniel for their romantic portraits.
There are some great little spots around Kent Life for this and the guys were keen. We managed to get back on time for the start of the wedding breakfast and a lovely meal it was too. After the meal it was straight into speeches and cake cutting before everyone headed back over to the Village Hall for the evening festivities. The DJ … Hairy Vince was genius and I would recommend him; friendly and fun and he didn’t hide behind lots of equipment as I’ve seen a lot of DJ’s do. There was also a band “Teenage Kicks” from Brighton who really (forgive me) rocked. Again a recommendation.
